1/7/2012 - HARWICH ROLLOVER: |
Harwich Police are investigating this dramatic crash about 12:40 a.m. A Pontiac G6 coupe going eastbound went out of control and crashed into a utility pole in the area of 306 Queen Anne Road before rolling on its roof. Incredibly-and luckily, the 18 year old driver had escaped the car and tangle of wires when rescuers arrived. She was not seriously injured but was taken to Cape Cod Hospital for evaluation. Harwich Police say they are charging the driver with operating under the influence of liquor, and operating negligently to endanger. Police also report she will be charged with an additional count of operating to endanger under the new texting and driving law. The utility pole was shattered and live wires came down on the car and in the road. Material from Harwich Police used in this report; Photo by Jake O'Callaghan
