7/30/2010 - Brewster House Fire

A stubborn two alarm fire was brought under control after causing considerable damage to this home at 120 Sheep Pond Circle Friday. The fire started around 12:30PM with Brewster asking for mutual aid from Harwich, Orleans, Chatham, Yarmouth and Eastham. Firefighters were able to save many valuable pieces of art work and paintings belonging to the homeowner.A Harwich firefighter gets rid of a burning item from inside the home. 7/5/2010 - BUS VS CAR

Around 7PM Sunday a Honda SUV ran a stop sign on Uncle Venies Road onto Route 28 striking a Flex bus sending one person on the bus to Cape Cod Hospital with unknown injuries. After hitting the bus the Honda traveled out of control smashing into a greenhouse on the property of New England Gardens Nursery at the corner of Route 28 and Depot Road. 6/20/2010 - WATER RESCUE

Sunday around 5PM a windsurfer was plucked from the waters of Nantucket Sound by the Harwich Fire and Rescue boat after he got in trouble off Bank Street Beach. He said his windsurfer collapsed on him about 300 yards off shore, he then tried to swim but soon got exhausted in the choppy waters. He was taken to shore where he refused medical help. 6/20/2010 - HOUSE FIRE

Around 11PM Saturday a fire broke out at 16 Mabel Canto Way gutting a small ranch. Harwich Fire put down the fire but the home suffered considerable interior damage. The homeowners were not home and no injuries were reported. Caused of the fire is unknown.The fire is believed to have started in the kitchen. Photos by Jake O'Callaghan

5/28/2010 - ROLLOVER CRASH

Around 1AM Friday a young man driving on Route 28 at Miles Street rolled his Chevrolet Blazer for a unknown reason. Harwich police responded to the scene where they found the victim sitting on the curb bleeding but conscious. He said he was coming from work at a local restaurant. He was transported to Cape Cod Hospital by the Harwich Fire and Rescue with unknown injuries. Harwich police are investigating the cause of the crash. Photos by Jake O'Callaghan
