Wally, the official mascot of the Boston Red Sox, was paraded through town yesterday on Harwich Fire Engine 1. Wally was in town to visit everyone at the Harwich Mariners baseball game.

7/19/2008 - ROLLOVER IN HEADWATERS |
Saturday around 8PM a male rolled his Chevrolet pick-up at the corner of Azalea Drive and Blueberry Lane. Harwich police issued a citation to the young driver for operating without a license and driving to endanger when backing up. No injuries were reported. Photo by Jake O'Callaghan

7/18/2008 - MAN FALLS FROM 20 FEET |
A builder fell from the second floor of a construction site on Driftwood Terrace Friday around 1PM. The man was taken to Cape Cod Hospital with unknown injuries. Harwich fire and rescue personnel carry victim to a waiting ambulance. Photos by Jake O'Callaghan

7/17/2008 - RUPTURED GAS MAIN |
Around 10AM Thursday a NStar crew digging at Azalea Drive and Bittersweet Lane struck an ruptured a gas main. Harwich police cordon-ed off the area streets and some homes were evacuated. A National Grid crew was able to cap the gas line after two hours (pictured above left). No injuries were reported. Photos by Jake O'Callaghan

7/7/2008 - Water Rescue Class |
The Harwich Fire Department and the Barnstable County Fire Academy held a water rescue class on July 7th. The class was attended by members of the Harwich, Chatham, Orleans and Yarmouth Fire Departments as well as members from the USCG Chatham, MA Forestry Service and the Orleans Harbor Master's Office. This all day class brought the students up to an operational level of training in water rescue techniques. The students learned shore and boat based rescue techniques and rescue swimmer deployment.
