The Harwich Fire Department was called for an assist at the intersection of Oliver Snow Rd and Ridgeport Dr. Ron Tosti was on his way home when he saw a duck standing near a storm drain. Mr. Tosti stopped and could hear several ducklings quacking from inside the storm drain. Mr. Tosti called the Harwich Police Department for assistance and a volunteer from Wildcare was called to come help with the rescue.
The Fire Department was called to assist with lifting the cover from the storm drain. After gaining access, a firefighter entered the storm drain and rescued 9 baby ducks. As soon as the baby ducks were put down, they ran back to their mother and soon Mama and her babies were on their way.
